Can You Hear Them Wailing?

The European Court of Human Rights has ruled that five suspected terrorists, Babar Ahmad, Abu Hamza, Seyla Talha Ahsan, Adel Abdul Bary and Khaled Al Fawarz can be extradited from Britain to America. The decision on a sixth, Haroon Rashid Aswatt has been adjourned to a later date.

The Court found that there were no grounds to believe the suspects would be ill treated in America and dismissed their appeals.

The liberal lefties are howling from their rafters. When you get down to it though, the only thing they seem to be wailing about is that in America, if these suspects are convicted, they might actually face some consequences for their alleged behaviour.

I am still wailing about the fact many of these suspects have spent years in British prisons awaiting extradition. They have fought the extraditions tooth and nail while blood sucking lawyers have bled millions from the Legal Aid system and the taxpayer trying to keep them here.

    Well, there's a surprise, lex.

Uncle Sam's fat wallet is ever the effective persuader when Court officials refuse to be intimidated by CIA 'dirt'.

  3. Oddly enough America is a functioning democracy (unlike Ingerlund, a third world police state that is a worse bet than Cuba under Batista or 'Nam under Thieu). Thing is, Obama wants his quart of blood and any "Ay-rab" will have to pay. 9/11? Result of being the sole nation powerful enough to export its foreign policy.

  10. Could it be that the ECHR are beginning to understand what the Human Rights Act actually means?

  11. I think even the liberals at the European Court felt that to judge that suspects/offenders would be ill treated in the US was a step too far.

  12. With nations such as Albania, Bosnia, Lithuania and Poland ruling at Strasbourg you have a slewed view of the ECHR.

  16. Amazingly how these lefty scum harp on about free speech-if what's written is something they agree with...

  17. "-if what's written is something they agree with..."

    Translates as:
"- should something be written whith which they can agree."

  18. Ciaran,
Not entirely clear how complaining to "mummy" - be that Twitter, wordpress or blogger - about the "nasty powiceman", tallies with your own continual whingeing about perceived censorship of, and in, your fairly rancid blog.
Still, inability to reason logically coupled with quite stunning hypocrisy are what we have come to expect from someone of your lofty academic credentials.
I would hope that even someone as intellectually challenged as yourself can see the irony in coming on a police blog to "boast" about it. No reaction from your vast readership ;-) ?

  21. Ciaran,
It's the internet - I am always interested to see the depths of stupidity to which you sink and I have an almost morbid fascination with keeping your Flag Counter entertained with different proxy servers.
Obviously I am not the person trying to silence those with whom I disagree - I support your right to free speech, though I despair at the way you waste it :-)
Odd though that you are forced to rely on the very police blogs you despise in order to engage anyone in discussion.

  24. 30,000 readers can't be wrong Tango. Or is it you 30,000? Now I am worried. Cats Jade? I have half a dozen. Heducated, yes "Goldberg Variations" is wonderful. Ciao.

  25. Oh dear Ciaran,
You are making a number of assumptions.
1)That 30,000 hits represents anything more than 30,000 cookies - so multiple hits by the same machine are entirely possible, provided the cookies are cleaned.
2)That 30,000 "readers" represents any measure of support for your views. A more representative indication might be the activity in your comments... :-)

Still I am sure that someone as educated is aware of that ;-)

  26. Dear T, where do I start? My software gives me the number of unique hits, far more than 30,000 but when I BROKE THE LAW by naming a rich guy in an injunction that is when my blogge went SuperNova. Your last sentence makes no grammatical sense in English but as my late Aunt was "a bit simple" I get what you mean.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Ciaran,
I don't think you really understand the concept of "unique" hits in an environment of dynamic IP's, proxy servers and cookies. Still your comments section speaks for itself. Or should that be "By" itself... ;-)

I never realised that the extra google traffic generated by "naming a rich person in a super injunction" could be converted into people who in any way support your blog. Prying curiosity would be a more likely explanation.

I apologise for the omission of the words "as you" from my last sentence. I am glad you were able to work it out :-)
